I've searched the archives looking at past driver issues, but couldn't find anything that sounded quite like what's happening here. A little background: I previously had Quadravox AQ430X installed on this machine as well as an older version of the IAR Kickstart IDE. Both have been uninstalled completely via the add/remove programs wizard. Msp Fet430uif Cdc Com15 Driver for Windows 7 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 10, 8, XP. I don't see the 'TI USB FET' device that would allow me to program and debug, and I'm not sure that the VCP driver that loaded is correct either. I've reinstalled IAR Kickstart several times and I still can't get the USB FET driver to load. Can someone help me out with a suggestion(s) for getting the USB FET part of the driver to load (and correct the VCP issue also, if necessary)? Perhaps this is more of a Windows XP issue, if so, I'd still appreciate any help. Thanks, Aaron. RALMFCO What on earth do you think MSP-FET430U(sb)I(nter)F(ace) - VCP MIGHT BE OTHER THAN THE USB interface. Did you actually try programming something, OR COMMUNICATING WITH SOMETHING?? Or did you just check the drivers Not see the exact wording TI USB FET and assume the worse? Perhaps you should try waiting until you encounter a problem before you start imagining them. Next time you're not feeling so well, try to find a more productive means of recuperation instead of embarrassing yourself on the internet. In the past, I have always had two TI FET devices load drivers when I plug in the EZ430 tool. One is the virtual com port (VCP), the other is the flash emulation tool (FET). This time, it appeared to only load the VCP. In addition, I was unable to download any programs or debug any devices. I was getting a failed communication error. I have since uninstalled and reinstalled IAR and rebooted several times. It appears that I am now able to download and debug code, but I'm still only seeing the VCP in the device manager. Perhaps if you (Al) would RTFM, you'd know that this is unusual. Perhaps IAR has modified their driver scheme, but I haven't been able to find mention of that in any docs. As long as it keeps working I guess I won't bother the group any more about this. -- Aaron OneStone said the following on 3/30/2010 1:18 PM: > > RALMFCO > > What on earth do you think MSP-FET430U(sb)I(nter)F(ace) - VCP MIGHT BE > OTHER THAN THE USB interface.
